All Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA-England) instructors pass a rigorous seven-day intensive training programme, accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health and licensed by MHFA International.
MHFA-England are certified members of Social Enterprise UK and were recognised by the organisation’s Roll of Honour 2020 for their social impact during the pandemic. They are licensed providers of Mental Health First Aid training form MHFA International (Australia) a not for profit organisation. Since its conception in 2000, 24 countries are licensed to provide accredited mental health training programmes.
MHFA-England are not a counselling service, they offer practical ways to identify poor mental health and clear ways to assist someone in poor mental health.
Due to government restrictions all courses are via Zoom, once restrictions are lifted, they can be delivered at our Derbyshire Centre or, at your place of business. Discounts are available on request. Bookings can be made directly on the MHFA-England website.

This course is delivered over two days face-to-face or four sessions via Zoom. On completion of this course, you will be a qualified Youth Mental Health First Aider, giving you:
A detailed and deep understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of poor mental health. Confidence to reassure and support a young person in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
Knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate
Ability to support a young person with a long-term mental health issue or disability to thrive
Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing
